    Bara Imambara

    Bara Imambara or Asfi Imambara is the most famous historical monument of Lucknow which was constructed by Asaf-Ud-Daulah in 1784 which is inspired by Mughal Architecture. This monument is well-known for its amazing maze which is known as Bhul Bhualaiya. Here, in order to reach the top of the monument we have 1024 ways; however, to come down there is only one way. Bara Imambara also houses a mosque which is open to the public and is considered one of the important mosques for Muslims.

    Chhota Imambara

    Chhota Imambara is the most beautiful mosque and building in Lucknow which was constructed by Muhammad Ali Shah, the third nawab in the year 1838. This mosque is the final resting place for him and his mother. The mosque and walls are well-decorated with chandeliers which is inspired by Indo-Islamic and Persian architecture.

    Lucknow Residency

    Lucknow Residency or British Residency was the headquarters of generals of the British East India Company which turned into a refugee camp for the British Army during the out-burst of the War of Independence in 1857. The fort is not under the power of the government which organizes light and sound shows to showcase the tragedy that happened during the revolt of 1857.

    Rumi Darwaza

    Rumi Darwaza is an excellent gateway which stands at a massive height of 60 feet situated between Bara and Chhota Imambara. This massive gateway was constructed by Nawab Asaf-Ud-Daulah in the year 1784 to provide jobs and food to the homeless. The gateway is inspired by Turkish architecture hence, also known as “Turkish Gate”.

    Dr. Ambedkar Park is built in order to pay tribute to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar which was commissioned by former CM of  Uttar Pradesh, Mayawati. The park houses amazing statues and structures of freedom fighters and historical importance.

    Hazratganj Market

    Hazratganj market is a local shopping market which is well-known for its unique handicrafts and jewelry items. There are many local and high-end shops where you can see several ladies checking out the locally produced Chikankari Embroidery sarees and suits.
