    Udaipur comes under Mewar Region which comprises Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Dungarpur, Banswara, Bhilwara and Nathdwara. The Mewar empire dates back to 734 A.D when Nagda was the first capital of the kingdom followed by Ahar being the second capital of the empire from 948 to 1214. Later, by the arrival of different successors the capital of Mewar kept on changing.
