    Day 1: Arrival Delhi

    You will be welcomed at the airport by a member of the Custom Tours India team, escorted to your air-conditioned car, and introduced to your driver. After check-in into your hotel, you can relax and get used to the hustle and bustle of incredible India. If you are arriving early morning and wish to visit the city, your driver will be standing by.

    Day 2: Delhi

    Start the day in Old Delhi where your tour guide will escort you to The Red Fort and Jama Masjid. You can enjoy a rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk where you will wend through narrow lanes of market stalls featuring everything from antique silver jewelry to wholesale spices. You can proceed to the Sikh Temple where you will see how volunteers operate a community kitchen that provides free food to visitors. Continue your sightseeing to Humayun’s Tomb, India Gate, and President House. Returning to your hotel, you can relax and enjoy a spa treatment after a busy day. Dine at the hotel or let your chauffeur drive you to one of Delhi’s premiere restaurants.

    Day 3: Flight to Varanasi

    Take an afternoon flight to Varanasi where you will be met by a guide who will introduce your driver and accompany you to your hotel overlooking the holy ghats. Your tour guide will take you on a sunset boat trip on the Ganges River where you will observe evening prayer rituals on the ghats amidst a backdrop of flickering oil lamps.

    Day 4: Varanasi

    Wake up for a morning excursion on the Ganges River to see worshippers taking an early morning dip to wash away sins. Watch the sun rise and listen to sacred chanting that echoes throughout this holy city. Later drive to Sarnath. A Buddhist pilgrimage site, Sarnath is the place where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon after enlightenment. Returning to Varanasi you can either relax at the hotel or walk through the sacred city with your tour guide.

    Day 5: Varanasi to Agra via Delhi

    Take a morning flight back to Delhi where you will be met by your driver who will take you to Agra. Relax at the hotel and then take a short ride to Mehtab Bagh, a charming park where you can enjoy the beauty of the Taj Mahal at sunset.

    Day 6: Agra

    In the morning, visit the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Agra is an ideal place for a spa treatment and an afternoon of relaxation around the hotel pool.

    Day 7: Agra to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri and Abhaneri

    See the Taj Mahal at sunrise and after breakfast drive to Jaipur enroute visiting the abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri and the beautiful Step Well Chand Baori. Upon arrival in Jaipur relax at the hotel, shop at the flagship Anokhi store, or enjoy an Ayurveda Massage.

    Day 8: Jaipur

    Your guide will take you on a city tour where you will see the Hawa Mahal surrounded by the extensive bazaars of the Pink City. Then enjoy an elephant ride to the beautiful Amber Fort, its walls winding incredibly over the nearby hills. Tour the City Palace, which is currently the house of the former Royal Family of Jaipur. Complete your day tour at Jantar Mantar to discover the world’s largest sundial and other incredible instruments that were built by ancient astronomers. If you wish, you can explore Jaipur’s extensive bazaars where you’ll find handcrafted fabrics and blue pottery. You may enjoy the evening light and sound show at Amber Fort or you might want to venture to the Monkey Temple.     Day 9: Jaipur to Delhi

    After breakfast, your route back to Delhi offers time to fill in your travel journal and sort through your photographs. You may catch an evening flight back home or stay a night in Delhi to await your international flight.
    This itinerary can be customized if you want to add extra days in any of the cities. You can also continue from Jaipur to Jodhpur and then to Jaisalmer to see the Thar Desert, where you can stay in a luxury tent under the stars and enjoy a camel ride.
