Arthur’s Seat
Arthur’s Seat is a popular place in any Mahabaleshwar city tour. It is located high up, around 1,340 meters above sea level. From here, you can see the Savitri River and deep valleys with lots of trees. The rocks at this spot look like a chair, which is why it’s called Arthur’s Seat. You can also shout into the valley and hear your echo. Other nearby spots include Tiger Spring and Echo Point. If the sky is clear, you might even see Raigad and Torna forts far away.
Venna Lake
Venna Lake was made in 1842 by Chhatrapati Appasaheb Maharaj and covers 28 acres. Trees and gardens surround the lake, making it a calm and pretty place. People enjoy riding boats and horses here. In the evening, food stalls sell tasty local snacks. It is just 2 km from the bus station, so many families and couples like to visit.
Pratapgad Fort
Pratapgad Fort is one of the well-known Mahabaleshwar tourist spots with a lot of history. It was built by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in 1656. The fort is on a hill, 21 km from Mahabaleshwar. It has big gates, stone paths, and a temple for Goddess Bhavani. It is famous because Shivaji fought a major battle with Afzal Khan here.
Mahabaleshwar Temple & Panchganga Temple
The Mahabaleshwar Temple is in Old Mahabaleshwar and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It was built in the 1500s and shows traditional Hemadant-style design. Next to it is the Panchganga Temple, where five rivers are believed to start. These rivers come out through a cow-shaped spout inside the temple.
Lingmala Waterfall
Lingmala Waterfall is a favorite spot for nature lovers on a Central India Tour with Mahabaleshwar. The water falls from about 600 feet high. There are two parts: a big waterfall you can view from afar and a smaller one where people can splash around. The area is filled with trees and is good for short hikes and photos. It’s between Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani, close to Venna Lake, and is most beautiful during the rainy season.
