    Dal Lake

    Known as “Gem of Srinagar ”, Dal Lake is the most popular tourist spot of the city which provides a wonderful reflection of Srinagar’s culture and tradition. Being the second largest lake of Jammu and Kashmir , Dal Lake is spread over a sprawling area of 15 kms where tourists love to go for a short Shikara Ride to witness the beauty of this lake and the floating market. The water is so clear that you can see the reflection of surrounding snow-clad peaks of Pir Panjal range and the sun rays hitting the mountains.

    Shalimar Bagh Garden

    Well known as “Crown of Srinagar”, Shalimar Bagh “Garden” is the largest Mughal Garden of the city. The garden was constructed by Mughal Emperor Jahangir in the loving memory of his wife, Nur Jahan in the year 1619. The garden is beautifully laid down in layers and has perfectly placed fountains and pathways. The garden overlooks Dal Lake which provides a pleasant view of the surrounding area.

    Nishat Bagh

    Known as “Garden of Bliss”, Nishat Bagh was designed by Asif Khan in the year 1633 which is inspired by Persian Garden. This 12-terraced garden is situated on the banks of Dal Lake and is the second largest garden in Srinagar. This Mughal Garden is beautifully designed with an amazing central water channel that is linked with several fountains, a water stream, chinar trees and the magnificent backdrop of Zabarwan Mountains.

    Tulip Garden

    Known as “Garden of Colors”, Tulip Garden is the largest tulip garden of Asia which is situated at the foothills of Zabarwan Mountain and overlooking the alluring Dal Lake. The garden is a paradise for photographers as different colored flowers are set in a straight row reflecting all the colors of a spectrum. Along with tulips, there are approx. 48 different species of flowers consisting of roses, daffodils, hyacinths and iris.

    Shankaracharya Temple

    Shankaracharya Temple is one of the oldest shrines in Kashmir which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. As per legends, it is believed that great philosopher Adi Shankara attained enlightment at this temple almost 10 centuries ago, hence the temple is named as Shankaracharya Temple. The temple is situated at a hill and has 243 steps to reach at the top of the temple. Being on the hill, the temple offers a splendid view of the surroundings.
