    Vaishno Devi Temple

    Vaishno Devi Temple is one of the holiest temples in India which is visited by a huge number of devotees every year. Situated on trikuta hills, hence the temple is also known as “Trikuta Devi Temple”. Vaishno Devi temple is dedicated to Vaishno Mata, manifestation of Hindu Goddess Durga and it is said that the holy mother fulfils everyone’s wish who comes here with pure heart and faith. The main attraction of this temple is the three naturally formed rocks which are known as Pindies which reflects the three faces for Goddess Durga. The three faces are Goddess Saraswati (For Knowledge), Goddess Lakshmi (For Wealth) and Goddess Kali (For Power, destruction and time).

    Bahu Fort

    Bahu Fort is the oldest structure built in the city which was constructed 3000 years back. The fort is situated on the left bank of Tawi River which was commissioned by Raja Bahucholan. The fort also has a Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Kali, incarnation of Goddess Parvati. The fort is one of the popular picnic spots as this place provides a wonderful panoramic view of the city and the surrounding hills.

    Raghunatha Temple

    Raghunatha temple is one of the important temples of the city which was commissioned by Maharaj Gulab Singh and later completed by his successor Maharaja Ranbir Singh around 130 years ago. The temple is dedicated to Lord Rama, incarnation of Lord Vishnu along with several other Gods and Goddesses. The temple also holds a great significance for Sikhism, as a tower is installed near to the main shrine which is a symbol of Sikhism. The main attractions of this temple are the inner walls and ceiling which are well-decorated with gold sheets and colorful paintings.

    Mansar Lake

    Mansar Lake and Sanasar Lake are the two twin lakes situated at a distance of 62 kms from Jammu and is one of the popular picnic spots for the locals. The lake is beautifully covered by lush green low-lying hills, dense forest, temples and parks which makes this spot one of the best places to witness the rich flora and fauna of Jammu. The lake has properly laid-out pathways and sit stops from where people can admire the beauty of this place and the lake.
