Sabarmati Ashram
Sabarmati Ashram is a peaceful place near the Sabarmati River. It was the home of Mahatma Gandhi from 1917 to 1930. This place is important in the Ahmedabad city tour because Gandhi planned many freedom movements here. You can see his famous spinning wheel, glasses, and letters. There is also a museum, a library with over 35,000 books, and a calm area to sit and learn about his life.
Kankaria Lake
Kankaria Lake is a fun place for families and kids. It was built in the 15th century by Sultan Qutb-ud-Din Ahmad Shah II. It is a popular stop in any Ahmedabad sightseeing tour because of its toy train, zoo, balloon rides, and water games. People also love visiting Nagina Wadi, a small garden in the center of the lake. In December, the Kankaria Carnival takes place with music, shows, and food stalls.
Jama Masjid
Jama Masjid was built in 1424 by Sultan Ahmed Shah. It is one of the most famous Ahmedabad tourist attractions. The mosque has 260 beautifully carved pillars and a large open space where people pray. The windows and walls have detailed designs that show the art skills of old times. This mosque is located in the old city near Manek Chowk.
Sarkhej Roza
Sarkhej Roza is a peaceful place with tombs, mosques, and palaces built in the 15th century. It is a popular place because of its beautiful mix of Hindu and Islamic architecture. The tomb of Sufi saint Sheikh Ahmed Khattu Ganj Baksh is the main attraction here. There is also a large man-made lake surrounded by gardens.
Bhadra Fort
Bhadra Fort was built in 1411 by Sultan Ahmed Shah. Inside the fort, there is the famous BhadraKali Temple. The fort has green courtyards, old gates, and nearby is Teen Darwaza, a famous triple-arched gateway. People believe that the fort is blessed by Goddess Lakshmi, bringing good luck and prosperity to the city.
